The position of Utilities Technician/Knitter will be responsible to perform duties associated with the manufacturing of sub-assemblies for implantable medical devices and for ensuring that the processes for manufacturing them meet all Corporate and Divisional requirements with respect to safety and efficacy. This individual will be an active team member and work cross-functionally and collaboratively in the production of such sub-assemblies. The Facilities Maintenance Technician/Knitter will also support the facility and assist with machine repairs, preventative maintenance and safety checks to ensure there is no disruption in production. Facility Maintenance Technician Machine Repairs Responsible for minor machine repair so that production will not be impaired. Preventative Maintenance responsible for preventative maintenance and safety checks of various machinery and building. Maintenance & repair skills including patching, painting, plumbing, HVAC, lamp changing, mounting hardware. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Prioritizes work based on needs in a team environment. Prepares a variety of records and documents as required. Fosters continuous improvement in training and all other areas of team performance. Follow manufacturing procedures and Quality System requirements. Make recommendations for manufacturing process improvements and cost savings. Possess mechanical ability and familiarity with hand tools and facility equipment. Must be able to successfully pass training/licensing requirements of federal or local regulatory programs to the position, if required. Knitter Machine Repair Responsible for minor machine repair so that production will not be impaired. Element replacement responsible for replacing the knitting elements. Machine Operator responsible for operating warp knitting machines, both single needle and double needle bar, up to 14 guide bars. Fabric damage repair responsible for replacing broken ends and repairing minor damages in the knitted fabric in gauges up to 64 gauge. Records Responsible for recording accurately every damage. Also responsible for recording all webs doffed from machines. Responsible for maintaining specifications for each product, check and respond to changes as called for within written specification. Layouts responsible for reading, understanding and responding to written specification in the form of layouts with regards to: threading, setting, needles, start up. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required, vocational training desired. Strong mechanical attitude (obtained through at least four years of experience) required.
